The Pot & Spoon Pop-up

Ever heard of a pop–up restaurant?

It’s a new growing trend that started overseas and made its way to Joburg and Capetown. And now even Durbanville has its very own pop-up restaurant scene. I found myself invited to the Pot & Spoon pop-up restaurant, held at Café Ruby on the Klein Roosboom winery just outside Durbanville.

What it basically entails is that the pop-up chef moves into an established restaurant for one evening, bringing his own flair, ideas and skills to the table, while using the facilities of the venue.

The evening brought us a stunning six course meal that left the taste buds tantalized. Particularly memorable was the deconstructed cheesecake. It was accompanied by the best of Klein Roosboom’s wines, and set in a cosy and stylish atmosphere.

If you like good food, ambiance and a good time (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?), visit The Pot and Spoon on Facebook to find out about their next event.

Zandberg Suiderland Plase

Zandberg Citrus Landgoed video

Suiderland Plase is committed to a sustainable land reform process by assisting emerging farmers to acquire vital business experience through a structured mentoring programme. Zandberg symbolises the essence of what empowerment really means. In partnership with the AgriSeta and training provided by Operational Process Improvements (OPI), Suiderland Plase have ensured that these workers attain their entitlement to land in a responsible and sustainable manner.

True empowerment is not about giving land to farm on – it is about acquiring the knowledge and skills to run an economic viable business in a sustainable manner.

With this in mind, beneficiaries enrolled on the New Venture Creation Learnership sponsored by the AgriSeta and conducted by the accredited training provider, Operational Process Improvement (OPI).

What better way to tell this story than with a documentary promotional video that combines visuals, sound and emotion to tell this story of hope and opportunity.

Watch this video clip to hear what the Western Cape Minister of Agriculture and the people of Zandberg and Suiderland have to say and see what true empowerment is all about…

Bodyography @ Elizabeth Galloway Fashion Show

It was once again time for the annual Elizabeth Galloway Graduate Fashion Show where the students had the opportunity to showcase their talent on the catwalk. We were invited by the Bodyography team, who are responsible for the make-up at the event, to come and film all the action that takes place behind the scenes at the fashion show and how they go about making the pretty girls look even prettier. Willem Foster, from, assisted with the video. Enjoy!
